The Braves lead the series 3-2 and are looking to erase the frustrations of 1991, ‘92 and ‘93 and nail down the World Championship. In Game 2, Glavine had allowed just two runs on three hits in six innings to put the Braves ahead 2-0. Here, he’s in total control, striking out Jim Thome to end the top of the fifth inning with a no-hitter intact. Tony Pena will lead off the sixth with a single, but it will be the Indians’ only hit of the night. And David Justice’s home run in the bottom of the sixth will give the Braves the only run they’ll need before Mark Wohlers replaces Glavine in the ninth to retire the Indians in order for a 1-0 Atlanta victory. Glavine’s Series stats: 14 innings, two runs, four hits, 11 strikeouts. Two wins. He’s the World Series MVP.
